Get Involved

We can't do anything without you.  Girls can't receive an education without a sponsor or receive scholarships to stay in school without someone to donate the funds for their scholarships. Support programs and staff to carry out our work all cost money.

Below are some ways you can help us to keep girls in school, safe and educated.

A long term commitment to sponsor
a girl's education

CEF frequently receives requests for educational support for children who are orphaned or from poor or challenged circumstances. The best help for these children is a long-term commitment to their education. We provide sponsors with annual photos, a letter or drawing from the child (depending on  their age) and a report on them including their school results. US$260/ $320 / $385  a year for a sponsorship depending on the child's school year.

Support programs you could get behind

CEF has a variety of support programs to help the girls obtain maximum benefit from their education. Support programs include: Food Support, Medical Support, Tet Food Parcels, Mentoring, Literacy Education and Bikes for School. Our workshops provide further support: Water Safety Day, Creative Expression Days, Life Skills Workshops, Girls to Women ~ Female Health & Hygiene Workshops, Human Trafficking and Child Labour Education and Child Abuse Education.

A scholarship to enable a girl from near
the border to stay safe and in school

In order to keep them in school and safe, CEF provides scholarships to help high school girls from a mountainous area near the Vietnam-Laos border. Most trafficking in Vietnam takes place along its borders. Photos and an annual report on the project are sent to each person who takes on a scholarship. The cost is US$300 a year (for 2022-2023 academic year) for an education scholarship for a high school girl  to help keep her in school, educated and safe.ef

Volunteer in Australia or in Vietnam

Self-funded long-term volunteers are a blessing to an NGO overseas and CEF especially appreciates specialist knowledge in relevant subjects.   We have volunteer advisers with NGO experience, a volunteer who annually does end of year assessments for one project, volunteers who recruit sponsors, who fundraise (for example selling  chocolates and garage sales) and we have volunteer board members.  If you would like to volunteer your valuable skills or knowledge do contact us.

Some of the sponsored girls

Truc's dad died of diabetes. Mum left her and her siblings with her parents and went to work in HCM City where she had a fatal accident. Truc's grandparents can afford to look after her with the support they now have from her sponsor.

Linh was abandoned by her mother when she was three months old. She lived with granny and granddad, but granny passed away three years ago, so now she just lives with granddad. Her sponsorship allowed her to stay in school.

Thu's father had a bad work accident and is a paraplegic.  Thu could continue her education due to being sponsored.  Mum can't work much as she has dad to care for, Thu's younger siblings and an older sister with Down's Syndrome. Note: Thu found grade 10 too difficult and is now looking for vocational training.
Thank you for your interest in CEF and for your support!
